Born Sara Jane Markle (1916-1994), she performed with bands around Nashville. Discovered by Dot Records executives while singing at the Nashville Elks' Lodge in the early 1950's. Her rendition of the 1930's standard "Goody, Goody" impressed them so much they had her record it for Dot Records. It was a big enough seller that sheet music was made with her photo on the cover. Jane also worked for radio station WLAC as traffic manager and performing on-air in the evenings. She re-married in 1953, starting a family and retiring from the business.
