Located at 4000 Franklin Pike, Nashville, Tennessee. Named after an island castle in Scotland, Glen Leven was built in 1857 by John Thompson, a financier of the Confederacy and slave owner, on property that was given as a Revolutionary War Grant to his father, Thomas Thompson, a signer of the Cumberland Compact. The house was used as a field hospital in the Civil War during the Battle of Nashville. Thankfully, the Greek Revival house and property were willed to the Land Trust for Tennessee and survives today.
