BIJOU THEATER
The Bijou Theater was located at 423 Fourth Avenue N., Nashville, TN, and owned by the Starr family of Bijou Amusement Co., which operated a 44 theater chain across the U.S. The 1,642 seat theater had it's opening night on September 14, 1904, built on the grounds of former theaters, Adelphi, and The Grand. The Bijou closed in 1913, reopening in 1916 as the Bijou Theater for Negroes. Some of the biggest stars of the time performed there. Sadly, the building was razed in 1957 to make way for James Robertson Parkway, and the Municipal Auditorium
