Davidson County Sheriff Garner Robinson at the Colemere Club during the St. Patrick's Day "Stag Party."

Robinson was elected Davidson County Sheriff three times (1946-1952), and held many political positions throughout his life. He, along with Jake Sheridan and Elkin Garfinkle formed a powerful Nashville political machine known as "The Old Hickory Gang." Much of their escapades are well covered in the book, "The Secrets of Hopewell Box: Stolen Elections, Southern Politics and a City's Coming of Age," by James D. Squires. Robinson was also the founder of Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home, and is the father of former Davidson County Judges, Muriel and Gale Robinson.
